Hello New Blog! 

Its a new year with lots of new exciting plans for 2016 and I would like to start off by wishing everyone a happy new year and to introduce myself.

I am the third generation of M Rosenberg & Son Fabric Merchants. Stitch Fabrics of Wanstead is my lovely little shop full of hundreds of beautiful fabrics. I hold dressmaking workshops upstairs in the Stitch Hub for beginners and intermediates, and I also sell a small amount of haberdashery including Gutermann Threads. I run a Vogue & McCalls pattern book service too. My family have been cutting fabric since the 1950s and the love and skill of buying good quality cloth has been past down from generation to generation.

My Grandparents were the ones who found passion and commitment to buying and selling good dressfabric many years ago.

The markets were their play ground where it all began. Together they would do a different market every day- Kingston Market, Bromley Market, Wembley Market, Pitsy Market, Hollaway Road Market and many more. This was where they learnt their trade and earnt their experience. 

The picture above is of my gorgeous Grandfather working on a Monday in Kingston Market. My Father Geoff first learnt to sell fabric on this stall just like my brother and I did.

After many years of my family working hard in the markets, we decided it was time for a change.... and heating and a toliet! Stitch Fabrics of Wanstead was born and that is where my love for fabrics and dressmaking came to life.

You can also find us at our Travelling Fabric Shows! Once a month we open up Trumpington Village Hall in Cambridge and Hayes Village Hall in Hayes, Bromley. We take over the entire hall and have one big fabric sale. We also exhibit at The Knitting & Stitching Exhibitions, Hobby Crafts Exhibition and more which you will find all the information on my website.
